“A man with new ideas can be considered as delusional until those ideas become successful.” - Marcelo Bielsa

Albert Miller

Hi, I am Albert Miller, the man behind Enganche.

My passion for football started at an early age. Cameroon’s terrific saga at the Italian World Cup in 1990 played a major role. From the streets of Yaoundé and Jakarta to the sunny beaches of Montpellier, I was always kicking a football. Later on, my love for the game led me to join the prestigious football academy of Montpellier Hérault Sport Club (France) as a player. After failing to sign a professional contract with Montpellier’s first team, I then played for the reserve squad of RCD Mallorca (Spain) and the Royal Club Spa (Belgium).

Since my professional football career was stalling, I decided to start my studies anew and focus on foreign languages and communication. After a few gigs for different French media outlets (So Foot and Africa Number 1), I was hired by FIFA in 2009 (Communications, Development and Competitions divisions). Thanks to my spell at the World football governing body, I was able to foster my knowledge in football technical development on a global scale and work closely with the technical department of several federations. After leaving FIFA in 2021, I have decided to go back to the main thing I am fond of: the pitch.

I have recently clinched a UEFA B licence coaching badge and certificates in scouting and match analysis with FC Barcelona Innovation Hub, Statsbomb and MBP.

Today, I analyse a gazillion amount of football games and scrutinize players’ performance. I have also recently helped the scouting department of an African club. I am a disciple of ball possession and positional game. I commend the job done by Johan Cruyff, Pep Guardiola, Marcelo Bielsa and Roberto De Zerbi.

P.S: By the way, I am still an active player in the 5th tier of Swiss football… Passion at its finest.
